La Grande Boucherie
About This Spot
Stepping into La Grande Boucherie feels like a quiet passage into a Parisian reverie nestled within Midtown Manhattan. The moment you cross the threshold, the bustle of New York softens into a refined, yet inviting rhythm, where polished wood, rich tones, and intricate architectural flourishes quietly evoke the Belle Époque’s carefree elegance. The mood here flows at a gentle pace—unhurried, warm, and effortlessly chic—offering a thoughtful contrast to the city’s usual haste.
Gathered around an impressive bar that gleams like a jewel against the ambient lighting, guests settle into a space that marries the indulgence of a timeless steakhouse with the classic allure of a French brasserie. It’s a place where familiar favorites—moules marinières, duck confit, or a perfectly executed beef bourguignon—are served with an eye for detail, inviting you to savor each bite as part of a shared moment rather than a rushed meal. The atmosphere invites connection: friends celebrating, couples lingering over rich desserts, or solitary visitors lingering over espresso and contemplation.
The staff moves through the space with a quiet attentiveness that feels personal without intruding, enhancing the ease and comfort that define the experience here. Whether arriving for breakfast bathed in morning light or an evening enveloped in soft shadows and the gentle clink of glasses, La Grande Boucherie subtly celebrates the joy found in timeless ritual—a café culture, a leisurely meal, a glass of red wine enjoyed slowly.
Here, every visit becomes less about the clock and more about presence, inviting you to momentarily inhabit a Parisian dream realized in the heart of New York.

We had the most beautiful dinner at La Grande Boucherie in New York City. Tucked like a dream between Sixth and Seventh Avenue, Boucherie feels almost unreal at first sight, a shimmering mirage of old-world Paris in the heart of Midtown. Inspired by the free-spirited charm and artistry of the Belle Époque, Boucherie blends the indulgence of a classic steakhouse with the elegance of a refined French brasserie. Founder Emil Stefkov imagined a space where craftsmanship means something, where French artisanship and American architecture could meet and make magic. It feels both timeless and modern, full of intention and reverence, a place where good food is treated like a celebration of life itself. I’m a sucker for a prix fixe menu, so of course we went that route. Caesar salads to start, perfectly made, complete with that tiny sardine perched on top the way it’s meant to be. I ordered the steak Diane, TJ went for steak and frites, and both were perfection. The desserts were unforgettable, but I’ll be dreaming about that crème brûlée. TJ had a Manhattan, and I ordered the Phoenix from the cocktail menu. Every sip felt like a warm, sweet burst of fire, a little moment of alchemy. The staff was wonderful too, and I even left with a small gift, a beautiful book about La Grande Boucherie that made the night feel all the more special. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had in New York City, especially in Midtown. A perfect evening in every way.

I recently visited La Grande Boucherie in New York City to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and the entire experience was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was elegant and beautifully designed, with a Parisian brasserie style that felt warm and inviting. The staff was attentive, professional, and made the evening feel special without being intrusive. The food was outstanding—beautifully presented dishes with rich flavors and high-quality ingredients. Every course felt thoughtful and well-prepared. The drinks were equally impressive, with cocktails that were balanced and crafted with care. The lively yet refined atmosphere made it a perfect place for a celebration, and I would absolutely return for another special occasion. La Grande Boucherie exceeded expectations in every way.

One of the best brunch/lunch spots I had in all of New York - already miss it! La Grande Boucherie is breathtaking the second you walk in. That massive, gorgeous bar is straight out of a dream and the whole dining room feels like a glamorous Parisian brasserie on steroids. It gets busy very quickly (especially on weekends), but they're super prepared for walk-ins. There's a huge, comfortable waiting area with plenty of seating if you don't feel like standing at the bar. We waited about 20-25 minutes without a reservation and it was totally pleasant. We ended up having a cocktail anyway because the bar is just too stunning to resist! Food was absolutely delicious. Everything we tried was perfectly executed and came out fast. Flavors were rich, portions were generous, and every plate looked almost too pretty to eat. Service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm even though the place was packed. The energy is lively and fun but still feels elegant, the ideal brunch vibe. Honestly, La Grande Boucherie was one of the highlights of my NYC trip. If you want spectacular setting with great food and solid service, run don't walk. Make a reservation if you can, but even if you have to wait, there's plenty of comfortable space and the experience is 100% worth it. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in the city!

We had dinner at La Grande Boucherie, and overall it was a great experience. The food was excellent — everything we ordered was super delicious and very well prepared. You can really feel the quality and attention to detail in the main dishes. The service also deserves a special mention. Our server was very professional, calm, and genuinely attentive — not only to us, but to all the tables around. It was noticeable how smoothly and patiently he handled everything, even when the restaurant was busy. The only downside was the waiting. Even with a reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes outside before being seated, which was a bit frustrating. Unfortunately, desserts were the weakest part of the experience. We ordered the profiteroles — the quality itself was good, but the filling inside was frozen, which really took away from the enjoyment. Overall, amazing food and very professional service, but the waiting time and desserts could definitely be improved. Still a place worth visiting, especially for the main courses.

La Grande Boucherie is absolutely stunning — a classic French brasserie with beautiful décor and a lively yet elegant atmosphere. The food was excellent, snails was so good. Steak Frites was excellent — perfectly cooked steak, tender and full of flavor, paired with crispy, golden fries. Classic French done right. Dessert is must here with great options. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented The service was professional, attentive, and well-paced, making the whole experience feel special. A fantastic spot for a refined meal, celebrations, or a memorable night out in NYC.
